Miami is a coastal city on the eastern seaboard of the United States and is a major hub for finance, commerce, culture, arts and trade. The city has the greatest urban economy for the state of Florida with a GDP of over US$340 bn and houses a population of over 5.5 million residents.

Investing in these areas will bolster the city's competitiveness going forward.

Miami has taken many steps in the last few years to improve climate resilience, notably by appointing a chief resilience officer and chief heat officer to dedicate resources to challenge areas for the city. The city's dedication to climate action has propelled its position to a leader in urban management and governance.
