In order to assess a city’s performance, Arup looks at four critical measures of competitiveness: how attractive it is to investors, its physical and digital assets and infrastructure, its liveability and loveability, and how well it is managed and governed.
There are 37 indicators across the four critical measures, and you can see them here. These were sourced from publicly available data and existing indices and were supplemented with spatial analysis using GIS. We used mainly city-level metrics, with some use of country-level data if city data was not available.
